Beniourain rugs found their origin in the Beniourain tribe which live in the Middle Atlas mountains, between the East of Fes and south of Taza in Morocco. Beniourain rugs are double-knotted with hand spun sheep wool of high quality and come in a creamy fluffy background with dark or even colored design stripes. Between the 30s and 60s they inspired modernist designers and architects like Eames and Le Corbusier but also artists like Paul Klee or Henri Matisse who named them the "Giant Whites". With their minimalist design, Beniourain rugs are an all-time classic, they add instantly a modern touch to any interior. Plus, walking barefoot on them feels heavenly.
